Industrial dehumidifiers can usually be divided into the following types according to their working principles, applicable scenarios and functions:

1. Condensing dehumidifier

Condensing dehumidifier is the most common type of industrial dehumidification equipment, and its working principle is similar to that of air conditioning. The air passes through the evaporator of the dehumidifier, cools below the dew point, and the moisture condenses into water droplets and is discharged through the drain pipe.

● Advantages:
● Significant effect, can quickly remove moisture from the air.
● Suitable for most industrial environments, such as warehouses, production workshops, laboratories, etc.
● Relatively simple maintenance and low operating costs.
● Applicable environment:
● Places with high ambient temperature (such as above 20°C).
● Environments with high requirements for humidity control (such as food processing, electronic product manufacturing, etc.).

2. Dehumidifying (rotary) dehumidifier

Dehumidifying dehumidifiers are also called rotary dehumidifiers. They use a hygroscopic rotor (usually silica gel, molecular sieve and other materials) to absorb moisture from the air. After the rotor is regenerated and heated, the moisture is discharged.

● Advantages:
● It can work at lower temperatures (as low as 0°C), suitable for cold environments or places with strict temperature requirements.
● It can maintain low energy consumption during long-term operation.
● The dehumidification effect is long-lasting and stable.
● Applicable environment:
● It is suitable for low-temperature environments, such as cold storage, electronic manufacturing, and pharmaceutical industries.
● Low-temperature or high-humidity places with high humidity control requirements.

3. Peltier (semiconductor) dehumidifier

This dehumidifier uses the Peltier effect (thermoelectric effect) to cool and dehumidify. The air is cooled on the surface of the cooling plate, and the water vapor condenses into water droplets and is discharged.

● Advantages:
● No compressor is required, the equipment is small and the noise is low.
● The effect is moderate, suitable for small-scale humidity control.
● Applicable environment:
● Small spaces such as small laboratories, power tool cabinets, switch cabinets, etc.

4. High-efficiency (energy-saving) dehumidifier

The main feature of this type of dehumidifier is high efficiency and energy saving. Through optimized design, advanced control technology, etc., the operating cost is greatly reduced.

● Advantages:
● High efficiency and energy saving, reducing energy waste.
● Smooth operation, suitable for long-term continuous use.
● Applicable environment:
● Industrial production, large warehouses, basements, indoor planting, etc.

sum up

According to different working principles, environmental requirements and application needs, industrial dehumidifiers have different types to choose from. Condensing dehumidifiers and dehumidifying dehumidifiers are the two most commonly used types, with a wide range of applications and suitable for most industrial environments. For low temperature or high humidity environments, rotary dehumidifiers are more suitable, while for small spaces or low humidity environments, Peltier (semiconductor) dehumidifiers are a better choice.
